Athletics at the Oval Track with Robbie
This week students are working with Robbie Cummings, U of C varsity track and field coach. They are further progressing their pole vaulting skills and trying out shot put for the first time! We certainly have some natural throwers, but the pole vault seems to be a steeper learning curve. They certainly are gaining more confidence and momentum ☺️

Last day of Fencing
Today was our last day of fencing at Repsol with Ares. Students had the opportunity to team up and play a best of 3 style tournament. I heard some great words of encouragement, and saw some great team work! It was competitive as usual.
We definitely saw progression over the 5 sessions and can really see that they are picking up new activities faster and faster as their body awareness increase and their athletic ‘tool belt’ grows!

Bobsleigh
Our HPAD students are breaking all kinds of records! We had 2 successful days of bobsleigh at the ice house. Lead by 5 time Olympian Lascelles Brown as our coach.
Once again they took risks, pushed themselves, were competitive and worked together to achieve personal bests! I was really proud of their willingness, growth, perseverance and support for each other. I’m sure they brought home several stories about their experiences.
